Dogpile Coming to Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 — 13 New Dogs, New Traits, and Challenge Mode

Developers Wings, Studio Folly, Toot Games and Foot announced that Dogpile will release on Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2, with versions for both platforms arriving "soon." The roguelite deckbuilder originally debuted at the end of last year and is receiving a substantive update timed with the Nintendo releases.

The teams described Dogpile as a roguelite deckbuilder in which players merge small dogs into larger ones to build and refine powerful decks.

At its core, merging identical canine cards creates a single, larger dog — a mechanic the developers say drives strategic placement, purchases, and progression.

What’s new for Switch and Switch 2

- New content: The update adds 13 new dogs to the roster and introduces two new Traits — Zoomy and Stinky — that modify canine behavior and synergy.

- Localisation: Support is expanding with seven new language options.

- Challenge mode: A new challenge mode will offer focused runs for players seeking higher-difficulty objectives.

According to the announcement, the update packages these additions for both Nintendo Switch and the Nintendo Switch 2 digital storefronts and will be available on the eShop when the releases go live.

Developers have not yet published a firm release date for the Switch or Switch 2 builds, but indicated the ports will arrive soon.

Gameplay and features

Dogpile tasks players with managing a growing collection of dogs, upgrading cards mid-run, and leveraging Trait synergies.

Players can customize dogs with Traits such as Barky, Sleepy, Timid and Cool, and further modify them at the Dog Wash or by equipping Dog Tags that alter how Traits function.

The teams highlight that clever combinations of Dog Tags and Trait synergies are central to creating powerful, game-changing decks.

A trailer for the Nintendo versions is available from the developers and provides a look at the new dogs and the updated UI tailored for Switch hardware.

For readers tracking Nintendo Switch 2 coverage, official updates and release dates will be posted to the eShop and through future Nintendo Direct announcements.
