Mintrocket has revealed a new crossover DLC for Dave the Diver that ties the game to Subnautica-style environments, with a planned launch for Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 in early 2027.

The studio released promotional materials outlining the expansion’s setting, characters, and a new trailer that showcases the crossover’s theme.

According to Mintrocket’s announcement, the DLC sends series protagonist Dave and companion Bancho through a portal to an ocean-covered moon called Proteus.

The developer says players can expect “new waters, strange creatures, and unexpected discoveries” as they explore Proteus’ submerged landscapes and gather novel resources.

Mintrocket framed the expansion as an opportunity to explore an unfamiliar oceanic world filled with both valuable finds and hazardous surprises.

Mintrocket described the DLC’s premise in clear terms: an unexpected visitor has appeared in the Blue Hole, opening a gateway to another world; Dave and Bancho must investigate Proteus, a lunar ocean teeming with unfamiliar fauna and salvageable materials.

The studio emphasized that the crossover will introduce environmental variety and fresh exploration targets for Dave the Diver players.

Dave the Diver is already available on Nintendo Switch platforms, and the announced DLC will be released on both Nintendo Switch and the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 hardware in early 2027.

A trailer accompanying the announcement outlines key locales and creatures players will encounter and is available through Mintrocket’s official channels.

The Subnautica franchise, developed by Unknown Worlds Entertainment, is known for its underwater exploration and survival mechanics; Mintrocket’s crossover borrows the aesthetic of deep-sea mystery while keeping Dave the Diver’s established gameplay focus on diving and discovery.

Mintrocket did not attach a precise release date beyond the early 2027 window and has positioned the DLC as part of ongoing post-launch support for Dave the Diver.

For players tracking the title, the DLC will likely appear on Nintendo’s eShop for the Switch family of hardware when Mintrocket confirms a final date.

Until then, the trailer and developer materials offer the clearest preview of what the Proteus crossover will bring to Dave the Diver.
