The game’s setting is characterized by a stark blend of Eastern European brutalism and retro-futurist technology, providing a richly detailed backdrop for high-stakes survival. Among the standout gameplay features, Bloober Team highlights the need to tactically navigate a world filled with evolving threats.

Players must scavenge for precious resources, utilize temporal anomalies to overcome obstacles, and engage in combat where quick decision-making is crucial.

Enemy creatures, horrific byproducts of a shattered humanity, present a persistent danger.

Notably, enemies can undergo a grotesque transformation called Merging, absorbing fallen counterparts to become even more formidable.

The only solution is to burn their bodies before they return in stronger forms. Additionally, the Harvester mechanic introduces a deep narrative dimension: players are tasked with locating key individuals lost in the apocalypse.
