Argonaut Games has officially announced Croc 2 Kingdom of the Gobbos for Nintendo Switch, confirming a Q4 2026 release window for the remaster of the studio’s 3D platformer sequel.

The project restores the game’s original development-era title while delivering enhanced visuals and a suite of quality-of-life improvements intended to preserve the spirit of the original release for a modern audience.

Croc 2 Kingdom of the Gobbos follows protagonist Croc as he crosses to the mainland in search of his long-lost parents.

That journey escalates when Baron Dante is resurrected by the Dantinis and seeks revenge.

Players will travel through four distinct villages, rescue captured Gobbos and confront a roster of Guardians — including Soveena the Squid, whose peculiar obsession with Ginger Soda is highlighted as part of her character.

Argonaut says the remaster preserves Croc’s classic move set while expanding mobility options.

In addition to traditional jumps and tail-spins, the remastered Croc can perform a new triple jump and engage in a variety of vehicle-based segments, including minecart, car and speedboat races, hang gliding, and piloting a wooden airplane across more than 40 open-ended 3D levels.

The studio is also bringing back a curated in-game museum.

The Croc2pedia will offer behind-the-scenes material, never-before-seen development documents, cut content and interviews with both the original development team and the contemporary remastering crew, tracing the game’s evolution from early concepts to final build.

Argonaut’s leadership framed the decision to greenlight Croc 2 as a direct response to the market performance of the first remaster.

Co-CEO Mike Arkin said that the positive reception and sales of Croc’s return made remastering the sequel an obvious next step, and that while Croc 2’s original engine presented unique technical challenges, early validation work gave the team confidence to proceed.

Founder Jez San OBE added that the sequel was always planned following fan embrace of the first remaster and expressed pleasure at bringing Croc’s next chapter to modern platforms in HD for both longtime fans and new players.

An announcement trailer accompanies the reveal.

Argonaut previously released a remaster of the original Croc on Nintendo Switch last year; further details on pricing, editions and eShop availability for Croc 2 Kingdom of the Gobbos are expected closer to the Q4 2026 launch window.
