Chained Echoes DLC 'Ashes of Elrant' Announced for Nintendo Switch With August 2025 Release Date

The acclaimed indie role-playing game Chained Echoes is set to expand its universe with its first story-driven DLC, Ashes of Elrant, launching on Nintendo Switch on August 7, 2025.

Developed by Umami Tiger and published by Deck13, Chained Echoes first captured the attention of RPG enthusiasts in 2022 with its nostalgic visuals, deep turn-based combat system, and compelling story.

Now, with Ashes of Elrant, the developers are poised to deliver an even richer gameplay experience for fans on platforms including the Nintendo Switch and Steam. Initially announced earlier in the year, Ashes of Elrant was originally slated for a Q2 2025 debut but faced a delay.

Key features include a completely new land to explore, over 40 new enemy types, and the introduction of an additional playable character.

High-profile composer Eddie Marianukroh returns, delivering more than 15 new music tracks to enhance the atmospheric soundtrack.

The DLC is also set to introduce fresh minigames and a selection of new equipment, broadening the strategic possibilities for players. According to official details from Chained Echoes’ Steam page, the events of Ashes of Elrant directly precede the main game’s climax.

As protagonists and their allies brace for the final confrontation, a new plea for assistance arrives, prompting the Crimson Wings to embark on a mission that delves deeper into the origins of the Order of Leonar and the personal history of key character Lenne.
