Pikmin Bloom Celebrates 4th Anniversary with Ice Pikmin Debut and New Switch Features

Pikmin Bloom, developed by Niantic in collaboration with Nintendo, is marking its fourth anniversary with a series of major in-game updates and cross-platform surprises.

Since its launch in 2021, the smartphone app has encouraged millions of users worldwide to gamify their daily walks with the help of colorful Pikmin and innovative AR features.

Now, as Pikmin Bloom turns four years old, the beloved mobile adventure welcomes a brand-new Pikmin type, seasonal events, and fresh content for fans on both mobile devices and Nintendo Switch. Introducing Ice Pikmin & Anniversary Celebration Events Kicking off from November 1, 2025, a frosty new addition is sliding into Pikmin Bloom: Ice Pikmin.

These chilly companions can be cultivated from seedlings found exclusively at Restaurant and Roadside locations.

Players who nurture their Ice Pikmin from these venues will unlock special Decor Pikmin styles, including the Chef Hat Decor for Restaurant-based seedlings and Sticker or Coin Decors from Roadside locations.

During this period, rare Decor options are also being made available for all Coin Decor Pikmin. The festivities don't stop there.

The 4th Anniversary Flower Box Event, running from November 1 at 12:00 a.m.

to November 30 at 11:59 p.m.

local time, offers players a variety of missions and rewards.

By completing event challenge missions, users can earn Colorful Flowers, unique seedlings that become 4th Anniversary Flower Box Decor Pikmin, flower petals, and other in-app items.

Notably, when the Big Flower blooms at the stage center, players are guaranteed a Gold Seedling in addition to random event rewards.

On clearing the first event mission—which tracks 1,000 steps—participants will receive a guaranteed Gold Seedling for a 4th Anniversary Flower Box Decor Pikmin. Returning fan favorites like the 3rd Anniversary Cupcake and Puzzle: Autumn Memories 2021 Decor Pikmin are also making a comeback during the event.

Players can further engage by destroying Brilliant Mushrooms to receive Mystery Boxes containing valuable items and seedlings.

Event-exclusive missions will reward Colorful Flowers which, when collected, unlock both new Decor Pikmin and festive Mii character costumes. Decor Pikmin Arrive in Pikmin 4 on Nintendo Switch Simultaneously, Pikmin 4 for the Nintendo Switch platform is receiving a substantial free update in November 2025.

For the first time, Decor Pikmin will appear inside Pikmin 4, bringing special costumes and customization opportunities into the mainline series.

Through the Field Camera feature, players can snap photos of their Decor Pikmin and enhance images with stamps and filters.

This update will also introduce new Relaxed and Fierce Creature Activity Levels, enabling both newcomers and seasoned players to tailor their challenge. These features will be accessible via a free Nintendo eShop demo, allowing both newcomers and returning fans to experience the latest content. How to Get Started Pikmin Bloom is available now as a free download on iOS and Android devices, with optional in-app purchases.

Players will need a compatible smartphone and a persistent internet connection.

Pikmin 4 is available exclusively for Nintendo Switch; the cross-platform update is coming November 2025. Pikmin Bloom’s fourth anniversary underscores the ongoing partnership between Niantic and Nintendo, continually refreshing the experience for longtime fans and newcomers alike.
