Pikmin Bloom 4th Anniversary Event Introduces Ice Pikmin and Special Decor on Mobile and Nintendo Switch

Pikmin Bloom, the popular mobile adventure from Niantic and Nintendo, is commemorating its 4th anniversary with a packed slate of content, debuting new Ice Pikmin and festive Decor Pikmin for players around the globe.

From November 1 through November 30, 2024, participants can enjoy new in-game activities, exclusive rewards, and an expanded crossover with the Nintendo Switch title Pikmin 4—a significant step for both the mobile and console communities. Launched in October 2021, Pikmin Bloom has continued to engage players with real-world exploration intertwined with the beloved Pikmin franchise.

As the app marks this milestone, it introduces Ice Pikmin—available for the first time beginning November 1.

Initially, Ice Pikmin seedlings are obtainable at specific real-world locations: Restaurants and Roadside spots.

Players who cultivate these seedlings can evolve them into special Chef Hat Decor Pikmin (from Restaurants) or Sticker and Coin Decor Pikmin (from Roadside locales).

Additionally, for Coin Decor Pikmin, rare variants will now be available. Anniversary festivities don’t stop there.

The 4th Anniversary Flower Box Event kicks off in November, offering unique reward opportunities.

Notably, the coveted monthly Decor Pikmin – the 4th Anniversary Flower Box – will now be accessible for Ice Pikmin, a feature rolling out for the first time.

Returning fan favorites also headline the event, as 3rd Anniversary Cupcake and Puzzle: Autumn Memories 2021 Decor Pikmin make a comeback. The event timeline spans from November 1 at 12:00 a.m.

Throughout this period, players can complete event challenge missions to earn rewards such as Colorful Flowers, seedlings for unique Decor Pikmin, flower petals, or additional items.

According to event guidelines, every cleared challenge offers random rewards, with certain milestones—like blooming the Big Flower at the event's stage—guaranteeing prized Gold Seedlings.

As a special anniversary bonus, clearing the initial challenge (requiring 1,000 steps) ensures each player receives a Gold Seedling specifically for the 4th Anniversary Flower Box Decor Pikmin. Further deepening engagement, completing designated missions during the event yields more seedlings and special, event-inspired costumes for players' Mii characters.

An additional event highlight is the chance to destroy Brilliant Mushrooms for Mystery Boxes, containing seeds for powerful Decor Pikmin such as the 3rd Anniversary Cupcake variant.

These Decor Pikmin, including the new 4th Anniversary Flower Box type, are especially effective against Brilliant Mushrooms. Nintendo also brings the celebration to Pikmin 4 on Nintendo Switch, as a free update launches in November 2025.

This update introduces two new gameplay modes: Relaxed Creature Activity Level, where Pikmin take less damage from non-aggressive enemies, and Fierce Creature Activity Level, tailored for fans seeking a greater challenge with tougher foes.

Most notably, this update brings Decor Pikmin into Pikmin 4 for the first time—allowing Switch players to photograph specially-dressed Pikmin in the field and customize images with in-game stamps and filters.

These features will also be available in the free Nintendo eShop demo, opening the door for new and returning players to experience the content firsthand. Pikmin Bloom remains free to download on iOS and Android devices via the respective app stores, with optional in-game purchases and event-exclusive bundles available.
