The studio is positioning the release as the centerpiece of a month-long promotional campaign it calls Croctober, which begins October 1 and will include news, updates, and additional reveals across Argonaut's social channels.
Croc 2 is the sequel to Croc: Legend of the Gobbos and the remaster restores the title used during the original development.
The updated edition preserves the game's open-ended 3D platforming while adding enhanced visuals and a suite of quality-of-life improvements.
Players will still have access to Croc's classic moves, with new mobility options such as a triple jump to reach higher platforms more reliably.
The storyline follows Croc as he travels to the mainland in search of his long-lost parents.
That journey is complicated when the villainous Baron Dante is resurrected by the Dantinis and seeks revenge.
The game sends Croc through four distinct villages where he must rescue captured Gobbos and face a lineup of Guardians, among them Soveena the Squid, a character noted for her obsession with Ginger Soda.
Argonaut is also including an in-game digital museum called Croc2pedia, following the studio's approach in the remaster of the first Croc.
Croc2pedia will present behind-the-scenes materials, previously unseen development assets, cut content, and interviews with members of both the original development team and the remaster team, offering players historical context and developer insights.
Argonaut Games co-CEO Mike Arkin said players now have a firm launch date and described the remaster as a blend of the original's exploratory 3D platform design with upgraded visuals and practical improvements meant to modernize the experience.
Founder Jez San OBE emphasized that Croc 2 expands the series' scope with four distinct villages and new exploration mechanics, and called the October 29 release an opportunity to share the sequel with a new generation of players.
Croc 2: Kingdom of the Gobbos will be available digitally on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch worldwide on October 29, 2026.
Further details, including screenshots and additional remaster features, are expected throughout Croctober via Argonaut's official channels.
