CD Projekt Red has confirmed precise digital unlock times and the download size for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Remastered on Nintendo Switch 2 ahead of the remaster’s launch window.

The Witcher 3 originally launched in May 2015 and became a critical and commercial landmark for CD Projekt Red; the new remastered edition brings updated assets and platform-specific enhancements for Nintendo’s next-generation handheld-console hybrid, the Nintendo Switch 2.

Developers and Switch owners have been tracking how the remaster will be delivered via the Nintendo eShop and how upgrades from existing versions will be handled.

CD Projekt Red community manager Marcin Momot clarified the technical specifics on Twitter, noting that the remastered build requires roughly 50 GB of storage on Nintendo Switch 2.

Momot also explained that, due to the way Nintendo treats Switch 2 upgrades in the eShop, the remastered release is listed as a separate product.

CD Projekt Red has confirmed that digital owners who already purchased The Witcher 3 receive the remastered upgrade free of charge; owners of the physical Switch 1 version must wait until the remaster’s release to obtain their free upgrade.

The studio published exact eShop unlock times for the United States: 6:00 a.m.

EDT on the East Coast, 5:00 a.m.

CDT in Central Time, 4:00 a.m.

MDT in Mountain Time, and 3:00 a.m.
