Nintendo’s July 2025 Nintendo Direct: Partner Showcase delivered a packed lineup of reveals and updates, heralding a vibrant future for both Nintendo Switch and the highly anticipated Nintendo Switch 2.

Streaming globally and now available for replay on the official Nintendo website and YouTube, the presentation offered in-depth looks at major new titles, returning favorites, and release dates stretching into 2026. One of the most significant announcements was Capcom’s “Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection.” Launching exclusively for Nintendo Switch 2 in 2026, this follow-up in the revered RPG series invites players to embark on a fresh adventure amid escalating conflict and environmental disaster.

Nintendo Executive shared, "Monster Hunter Stories 3 advances our classic turn-based gameplay and deepens narrative choices, delivering a journey fans won’t forget." Expanding on the lore of Hyrule, “Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment” was revealed as a canonical prequel outlining the Imprisoning War from The Legend of Zelda universe.

Players can take charge of pivotal characters such as Princess Zelda and King Rauru when the title launches this winter for Nintendo Switch 2. Sports fans have plenty to anticipate with “EA SPORTS Madden NFL 26" making its franchise debut on Nintendo Switch 2 August 14, 2025, featuring advanced play styles powered by extensive NFL data.

Its partner, “EA SPORTS FC 26,” lands September 26, 2025, for both Switch and Switch 2, introducing new managerial and community-driven features.

Pre-orders for both are now live on the Nintendo eShop. Standout ports and remasters abound: "Yakuza Kiwami" and "Yakuza Kiwami 2" bring SEGA’s gritty action drama to Switch 2 on November 13; “PAC-MAN WORLD 2 Re-PAC” relaunches the classic platformer on September 26; and a remake of “FINAL FANTASY TACTICS – The Ivalice Chronicles” arrives September 30 for both current and next-gen hardware, boasting fully voiced dialogue and reimagined visuals. Original experiences were a highlight.

“Chillin’ by the Fire,” a meditative campfire sim, is out now on Switch 2, introducing GameShare co-op and innovative camera-based play.

Square Enix unveiled “The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales,” an action-adventure RPG with HD-2D graphics, debuting with a playable demo ahead of its 2026 release.

Meanwhile, “Hela” promises a whimsical, folklore-inspired journey for 2026, and “Goodnight Universe” presents an emotional adventure starring a psychic baby, launching November 11. Action and multiplayer enthusiasts can look forward to “DRAGON BALL: Sparking! ZERO” (November 14) with its extensive 180+ character roster and online battles, "Apex Legends" hitting Switch 2 on August 5, and Plants vs.

Zombies: Replanted” in HD on October 23—featuring new levels and secrets for the iconic strategy game. Party and music gaming continues with "Just Dance 2026 Edition," set for October 14, offering 40 new tracks and a suite of solo and multiplayer dance modes.

“OCTOPATH TRAVELER 0,” also leveraging HD-2D visuals, brings a deep, customizable RPG journey to both platforms from December 4.

Rounding out the showcase were ambitious releases like the first open-world "Star Wars Outlaws” (September 4), survival horror “Cronos: The New Dawn” (September 5), “Borderlands 4” (October 3), and a return of indie and legacy franchises, such as "SHINOBI: Art of Vengeance" and “Romancing SaGa 2: Revenge of the Seven.” With pre-orders available for nearly all major announced titles via the Nintendo eShop, and a slate of demos arriving the same day as the showcase, Nintendo continues to lead with diversity, innovation, and a commitment to both legacy and cutting-edge game experiences.
