Castlevania Musical by Takarazuka Revue Opens Ticket Sales for 2025 Japan Shows

Konami’s legendary gothic action franchise, Castlevania, is set to make its debut on the Japanese stage as "Castlevania: Awakening under the Moon," thanks to the celebrated Takarazuka Revue.

This musical adaptation was officially announced in late October 2024 and is poised to bring the timeless vampire-hunting saga to a new audience, combining classic series elements with Takarazuka’s renowned theatrical style. The Castlevania franchise, first launched by Konami Digital Entertainment in 1986, is known worldwide for its rich atmosphere, dramatic visuals, and memorable orchestral scores.

The series has chronicled the generations-long battle between the Belmont family and the resurrected Count Dracula, captivating fans through numerous games on platforms including the Nintendo Switch and beyond.

Castlevania’s cultural impact has only grown in recent years, notably with animated adaptations on Netflix and compilations of classic titles added to modern gaming libraries, such as the Nintendo eShop. In partnership with Konami, the Takarazuka Revue—a prestigious all-female musical theater troupe—will stage "Castlevania: Awakening under the Moon," featuring an original story crafted and directed by Kei Suzuki.

Suzuki, who previously led Takarazuka’s successful adaptations of "Ace Attorney" and "Sengoku BASARA," brings seasoned expertise to the project.

The production will star Sea Nagatsuki at the helm of the Flower Troupe (Hanagumi), ensuring a performance that blends Castlevania’s gothic lore with Takarazuka’s signature stylistic flair. The initial run is scheduled from June 7 to July 20, 2025, at the Takarazuka Grand Theater.

Following this, the show will move to Tokyo, with performances at the Tokyo Takarazuka Theater from August 16 through September 28, 2025.

Overseas ticket sales for the Takarazuka Grand Theater run have now officially opened online, with tickets priced at 3,500 yen.

Ticket sales for the Takarazuka Grand Theater will begin on May 17, 2025, while sales for the Tokyo Takarazuka Theater's performances will start on July 13, 2025. A newly unveiled poster visual has also been released, highlighting the production’s dramatic aesthetic.
