Konami and developers Evil Empire and Motion Twin have confirmed an official release date for Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse.
The Castlevania spin-off from the creators of Dead Cells is scheduled to launch on October 15, 2026 for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series consoles.
A Nintendo Switch version is confirmed to arrive later in 2026.
Set in a burning, medieval Paris in 1499, Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse follows Trevor Belmont and his daughter Rose Belmont as they navigate streets overrun by monstrous forces emerging from a nearby castle.
Armed with the Vampire Killer whip, the pair confront both classic series antagonists and newly introduced threats as Rose becomes entangled in a deeper conspiracy beneath the city.
Developers describe the combat as a modernized take on Castlevania’s whip-based action.
Promotional copy emphasizes refined whip mechanics that allow players to move fluidly and chain aggressive attacks, encouraging creative traversal and fast-paced engagements.
The game also introduces an Arcana system: defeated bosses are sealed into tarot cards and become usable Arcana, granting Rose new skills and special actions.
Known boss encounters include series staples such as Death, Medusa and Carmilla, alongside new and unexpected adversaries including a depiction of Joan of Arc.
The team has highlighted a variety of equipment systems: weapons spanning seven distinct categories and Relics that provide offensive and defensive effects, allowing players to customize Rose’s playstyle by combining items found through exploration.
Visually, the title promises a reimagined Castlevania atmosphere, blending Gothic aesthetics with refined, modern visuals across newly designed stages and maps inspired by classic entries in the franchise.
Pre-orders are available now in multiple editions.
The Standard Edition contains a copy of the game.
The Midnight Edition includes the game, a digital sound and art gallery, and in-game bonuses such as Trevor and Sypha style costumes and the Family’s Grace relic.
Pre-orders for both editions include the Alucard Style Costume as a launch bonus.
A new cinematic and gameplay trailer accompanies the announcement.
Konami, Evil Empire and Motion Twin have confirmed platforms and release windows; players can expect the full launch on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series on October 15, 2026, with the Nintendo Switch edition following later in 2026.
