Capcom Considers More Resident Evil Remakes for Nintendo Switch and Modern Platforms
The Resident Evil series, long celebrated as a cornerstone of survival horror, continues to receive renewed attention from Capcom through high-quality remakes.
At the recent PlayStation Partner Awards event in Japan, Capcom reaffirmed its ongoing commitment to revitalize classic Resident Evil titles for today’s audience—a move that has resonated strongly with both fans and newcomers.
The current slate of remakes, including the lauded Resident Evil 4 remake, has demonstrated robust commercial performance and critical acclaim across contemporary hardware such as the Nintendo Switch, albeit via cloud-based versions.
In a conversation with IGN, Resident Evil 4 remake director Yasuhiro Anpo discussed the developer’s ongoing ambitions.
Reflecting on the remake projects to date, Anpo noted, “We’ve released three remakes so far and each has garnered a positive response.
Bringing classic Resident Evil experiences to modern audiences is something I am passionate about, and we are eager to continue these efforts.”
