Capcom Q1 2026 Results: Resident Evil Requiem Hits 8 Million, Pragmata Surpasses 2.5 Million

Capcom posted robust first-quarter results for fiscal 2026, driven in part by the continued commercial performance of recent releases.

In its Q1 2026 financial report covering April 1 to June 30, 2026, the publisher confirmed that Resident Evil Requiem has sold 8 million units since its February release, while Pragmata has surpassed 2.5 million units following its April launch.

The company reported net sales of ¥70.41 billion (approximately $430 million) for the quarter, a 54.7% increase compared with the same period the previous year.

Operating profit rose to ¥41.05 billion (about $250 million), up 66.9% year-on-year.

Capcom also disclosed that it sold 23.81 million game units during the quarter, an increase from 14.16 million units reported in Q1 2025.

Capcom highlighted the role of marketing and promotional activity in Pragmata’s performance, saying it cultivated a fanbase through extensive promotion and related measures, which the company credited for the title’s favorable sales outcome of more than 2.5 million units worldwide.

Why these figures matter

- Resident Evil Requiem: Released in February 2026, the title has now reached 8 million copies sold, marking a significant milestone for one of Capcom’s flagship franchises during the company’s fiscal first quarter.

- Pragmata: Launched in April 2026, Pragmata’s 2.5 million-plus sales underscore a strong early reception for a new IP during a competitive release window.

- Financial impact: The combined strength of major releases helped Capcom deliver substantial year-on-year growth in both net sales and operating profit for Q1 2026.

Context and industry relevance

Capcom remains a major third-party publisher noted for franchise-driven revenue and periodic new IP launches.

The publisher’s Q1 performance demonstrates the continued commercial potency of high-profile releases alongside active promotional campaigns.

These results will be of interest to investors, platform holders, and industry analysts tracking first-party and third-party software trends across consoles and PC.

Capcom’s next reporting milestones will clarify whether momentum from Resident Evil Requiem and Pragmata sustains through the remainder of fiscal 2026, and how the publisher plans to leverage these sales across future content, updates, and platform strategies.
