The company revealed the device on June 26, 2026, sharing full specifications, pricing tiers, and pre-order details during a livestream and follow-up announcements from CEO Arthur Zhang.
The Pocket Micro 2 continues AYANEO’s focus on retro gaming in a palm-sized form factor while refining ergonomics and core hardware.
Design and display
The Pocket Micro 2 retains the 3.5-inch IPS display of the original Pocket Micro, with a 960x240 resolution and native 4x scaling aimed at delivering pixel-accurate Game Boy Advance visuals.
AYANEO described the new model as an evolutionary redesign: visually similar to the first Pocket Micro but slightly sleeker, with a number of targeted control and hardware updates.
Controls and I/O
AYANEO confirmed the Pocket Micro 2 will ship with recessed TMR dual joysticks rather than the protruding sticks of the earliest model.
The company also highlighted a split large-size shoulder button layout designed to reduce mistouches and improve comfort.
Additional hardware updates include a full-featured USB Type-C port, a new 3.5mm headphone jack, and a built-in microphone.
Performance and battery
During the livestream AYANEO said the handheld is powered by a Snapdragon 865-class custom processor paired with an Adreno 650 GPU, and the company reported a 220% performance uplift over the original Pocket Micro.
The battery is listed at 3,950mAh, which AYANEO stated is roughly 52% larger than the prior generation’s 2,600mAh cell.
Pricing, colors, and availability
AYANEO opened pre-orders on June 26, 2026, through its official website.

Context and lineage
The original AYANEO Pocket Micro launched in 2024 as an Android-based retro handheld praised for its compact design and strong Game Boy Advance presentation.
AYANEO later released a Pocket Micro Classic revision that removed sticks and lowered the price; both earlier models have since been discontinued ahead of this Gen 2 release.
Unlike dedicated consoles such as the Nintendo Switch, AYANEO’s Pocket Micro line targets retro enthusiasts seeking an Android-driven emulation experience in a pocketable form.
Pre-orders are live on AYANEO’s site, and the company’s livestream and social media posts remain the primary sources for the announced specs and pricing.
