Ubisoft Confirms No Plans for Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora on Nintendo Switch 2

Ubisoft's visually stunning open-world adventure, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, released in December 2023, has been celebrated for its dazzling graphics and ongoing content updates.

Developed and published by Ubisoft, the game takes inspiration from James Cameron's acclaimed Avatar franchise and has solidified its place among the most technically impressive releases on current-generation hardware. However, fans anticipating a future port for Nintendo's next flagship console, the Nintendo Switch 2, may be set for disappointment.

During a recent industry interview at FRVR, Ubisoft addressed the potential of bringing Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora to the Switch 2 platform.

When questioned about the possibility, Game Design Lead Amandine Lauer candidly stated that she could not comment on such plans, clarifying that she does not have information on the matter.

The game's director, Aoife O’Friel, further reinforced this uncertainty, saying that the team currently does not know whether a Switch 2 version would even be feasible. This means that, at present, Ubisoft has no confirmed intentions to release Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora on the Nintendo Switch 2.

While the company has maintained a reputation for supporting Nintendo consoles, particularly through the eShop and Nintendo Direct presentations, the director and design lead's remarks effectively confirm that a port is not under active development. Despite this, Ubisoft's commitment to Nintendo platforms remains evident.

The company is bringing several high-profile releases to the Switch 2 lineup, including Assassin's Creed Shadows and Star Wars Outlaws, both of which were announced to launch on Nintendo’s new hardware.

Additionally, The Rogue Prince of Persia, developed by Evil Empire (known for their acclaimed work on Dead Cells), is scheduled for a release on December 16, 2025, further strengthening Ubisoft's portfolio on the console. Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora continues to receive positive attention and significant post-launch support across supported platforms.

As of now, Nintendo Switch 2 owners hoping for a Pandora adventure will need to look elsewhere, while enjoying Ubisoft's expanding catalog on the upcoming hardware.
