Persona 3 Reload Performance Patch Coming After Nintendo Switch 2 Release, Confirms Atlus Atlus' highly anticipated RPG, Persona 3 Reload, has generated buzz within the gaming industry, especially following the recent release of its demo for the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 platform.

As the latest entry in the critically acclaimed Persona series, Persona 3 Reload has been closely watched for both its faithful modernization and technical performance on new hardware.

A couple of weeks ago, the Persona 3 Reload demo landed on the Nintendo eShop for Switch 2, giving players a chance to experience the game ahead of its full release.

However, early impressions highlighted some technical concerns.

While the demo generally ran at 30 frames per second as expected, users noted inconsistent frame rates and periodic performance dips, raising questions about how the beloved RPG would perform on Nintendo's hardware at launch. Responding to these concerns, Atlus’ general producer Yoshihiro Komori addressed the situation in an interview with industry outlet Nintendo Life.

Komori explained that the development team is actively working to resolve these performance issues, emphasizing the importance of thorough quality assurance.

“We are taking steps to improve performance.

However, due to the need for careful QA, we could not implement these enhancements in time for the main game’s release.

Improvements will be delivered through future patches,” Komori stated. This means that players picking up Persona 3 Reload on Nintendo Switch 2 at launch should expect to see the same 30FPS cap and existing frame rate issues observed in the demo.

Atlus has committed to releasing updates post-launch to address these technical shortcomings and enhance the overall gameplay experience.

Notably, save data from the demo will transfer to the full version, allowing players to continue their progress seamlessly. Persona 3 Reload is set to launch this week on Nintendo Switch 2 and other platforms, continuing Atlus’ tradition of expanding its flagship franchises beyond PlayStation.

With Atlus already hard at work on patches, players can expect ongoing support to bring the Switch 2 version in line with the best possible experience.

For those eager to test the game, the demo remains available via the Nintendo eShop. Stay tuned for our comprehensive review, including an in-depth analysis of Persona 3 Reload’s performance on Nintendo Switch 2, coming later today.
