Shueisha Games has announced a video game adaptation of Honobu Yonezawa’s bestselling novel Seasons of Books and Keys for Nintendo Switch and Steam, due to launch this winter with an exact release date still to be announced.
The project adapts the Shueisha Bunko novel into a narrative-driven title described by the developer as a "drama-like adventure," and promises full voice acting, color illustrations, and a newly written episode exclusive to the game.
The developer frames the experience as a hybrid of reading and watching: the game is designed to be consumed visually and aurally while players interact directly with the narrative, creating an immersive, sensory-driven storytelling experience.
Shueisha Games also highlights that the adaptation preserves the reflective tone of the printed novel while adding immediacy through animation-style presentation and voice performances.

The scenario follows the coming-of-age mystery at the heart of Seasons of Books and Keys, focusing on two high school students who serve on their school library committee and find themselves drawn into bittersweet mysteries rooted in everyday life.
For this release, Yonezawa himself has written an all-new episode titled "Used Kitan," expanding the novel’s universe for players.

Yoko Tanji, who created the original novel’s key visual, has produced newly drawn main character designs for the game.
The full scenario will be supported by rich color illustrations and complete voice acting.
The two principal characters are Jiro Horikawa, voiced by Kazuki Ura, and Shimon Matsukura, voiced by Yuichirou Umehara.
Horikawa is portrayed as a perceptive but trusting student frequently pulled into odd situations, while Matsukura is depicted as sardonic and unusually mature for his age.
