Majora's Mask Soundtrack Arrives on Nintendo Music as Part of Zelda 40th Anniversary Celebrations

Nintendo expands Zelda 40th Anniversary programming with new Majora's Mask digital offerings Nintendo is expanding its Zelda 40th Anniversary activities with a slate of digital releases and profile customizations focused on the N64 classic The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask. The updates cover music, mobile content and Switch profile assets and are rolling out in October as part of the company's ongoing celebration of the franchise. According to Nintendo, the original Majora's Mask soundtrack will be added to the Nintendo Music service on Friday, 9 October in Japan; the company indicated that regional timing will likely place the release in Western territories on the preceding day. The soundtrack is the original score from the Nintendo 64 title and will become available via Nintendo's streaming music platform. Nintendo has also introduced Majora's Mask-themed digital cards to the Nintendo Today! service. The cards are paired with a daily quiz feature: players who answer the daily question correctly earn tokens that can be redeemed for wallpapers or for previously released digital cards. Nintendo described the system as a rotating rewards loop tied to the celebration period. In addition, Nintendo added Majora's Mask icons to the Switch Mission & Rewards feature, allowing players to customize their Switch user profiles with character portraits and symbols from the game. Nintendo has set the availability window for these profile icons through 23 October. Staff commentary and franchise context Editorial staff who previewed the additions noted the significance of the soundtrack release to long-time fans, describing the Majora's Mask score as a standout element of the N64 title and expressing eagerness to revisit the original compositions on Nintendo's music service. Looking ahead, Nintendo's major release toward the end of the year is a full remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time for the Switch 2, which the company has scheduled for 5 November 2026. Nintendo has not announced a comparable remake for Majora's Mask at this time. These Majora's Mask releases — on Nintendo Music, Nintendo Today! and the Switch Mission & Rewards system — are part of Nintendo's broader effort to highlight legacy Zelda content during the series' 40th anniversary. Fans can find the new soundtrack on Nintendo Music and access the Nintendo Today! cards and Mission & Rewards icons via their existing Nintendo accounts and the Switch interface.
