Nintendo is bringing the soundtrack of The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask to its Nintendo Music app for Nintendo Switch Online subscribers on Friday, October 9.
The move adds one of the most requested entries in Nintendo’s catalogue of classic game music to the downloadable library on the Nintendo Switch platform.
Background
Originally released for the Nintendo 64 in 2000, The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask is a critically acclaimed entry in Nintendo’s long-running Zelda franchise.
Nintendo’s Nintendo Music service — available to Nintendo Switch Online members — has steadily expanded its selection of classic game soundtracks, and Majora’s Mask joins that growing roster with a curated set of tracks.
What Nintendo said (rewritten)
Nintendo confirmed that, on Friday, October 9, music from The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask will be made available for download through Nintendo Music for Nintendo Switch Online subscribers.
The company said the release will include the main theme alongside a selection of scene-specific tracks, inviting listeners to experience the haunting, cyclical atmosphere of Termina through the game’s music.
Availability and how to access
The Majora’s Mask tracks will be accessible via the Nintendo Music application on Nintendo Switch for users who hold an active Nintendo Switch Online subscription.
As with previous additions to the service, subscribers can download and play individual tracks through the app.
For users seeking purchase or download options outside of Nintendo Music, Nintendo has not announced alternative releases tied to this specific update.
Why it matters
Nintendo’s continued expansion of Nintendo Music underscores the company’s ongoing effort to preserve and monetize classic game soundtracks on the Nintendo Switch ecosystem.
For fans of Majora’s Mask — and of video game music more broadly — the addition provides an official, portable way to revisit the game’s score inside the Nintendo environment.
For the latest confirmations and any follow-up releases, Nintendo Switch Online members should check the Nintendo eShop and official Nintendo channels, including future Nintendo Direct announcements, for updates.
