Nintendo has revealed an exciting new product for fans of The Legend of Zelda series: the first-ever Western vinyl release of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild soundtrack.
Previously exclusive to the Japanese market, this lavish collector's edition is set to arrive on June 19, 2026, marking a milestone for physical game music releases in North America, Europe, Australia, and beyond.
Since its launch on Nintendo Switch and Wii U in 2017, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild has become one of Nintendo’s most celebrated titles, earning universal acclaim and selling over 30 million copies worldwide.
Its evocative soundtrack, composed by Manaka Kataoka, Yasuaki Iwata, and Hajime Wakai, has been praised for its atmospheric contributions to the gaming experience.
Until now, however, Western fans had limited opportunities to own the game’s music in a premium, physical format.
Nintendo’s upcoming vinyl soundtrack addresses this demand, offering collectors and enthusiasts two distinct options.
The standard double vinyl edition is priced at $49.99 and features 34 carefully selected tracks, providing a curated musical journey through Hyrule.
For those seeking the comprehensive experience, the full eight-disc set retails for $194.99 and includes all 130 tracks from the game.
Both sets will be available in classic black vinyl or special colored versions that feature unique artwork inspired by Breath of the Wild’s striking visuals.
In an interview featured by Variety, Bill Trinen of Nintendo of America explained that the decision to release the vinyl set in Western markets is aimed at better understanding regional interest in physical game soundtracks.
Trinen commented that, while CDs remain dominant in Japan and have long been used for game soundtracks, Western markets have seen fewer physical releases.
This vinyl edition represents an effort by Nintendo to gauge demand for such products outside their home territory.
Pre-orders for the soundtrack will open in the coming days.
Fans can purchase through label partner Laced Records, the My Nintendo Store, and a selection of independent retailers including Black Screen Records, Rough Trade, and VoV.
The release will be available in the US, Canada, the EU, Australia, and New Zealand, ensuring accessibility for Zelda supporters worldwide.
This announcement marks not only a celebration of one of Nintendo’s most beloved franchises but also a potential precedent for future physical game music releases in the West.
As Nintendo continues to listen to its international fanbase, collectors and enthusiasts can look forward to more opportunities to own pieces of gaming history.
