Tommy Tallarico Lists Lavish California Estate Amid Intellivision Controversy

Tommy Tallarico, a prominent figure in the video game industry known for his decades-long career as a composer, television personality, and executive, has listed his opulent California home for sale with a price tag of $2,999,000.

The Hunt Club residence, recognized for its unique features and showcase appearances, comes at a pivotal time for Tallarico following his high-profile tenure and recent controversies at Intellivision. Tallarico began his journey in gaming in the early 1990s at Virgin Interactive, initially serving in the QA department before moving into composing acclaimed soundtracks for games such as "Global Gladiators," "The Terminator," "Earthworm Jim 2," and Disney's "Aladdin." He later gained wider recognition as the co-host of television shows "Electric Playground" and "Reviews on the Run," and, in 2002, he founded the acclaimed concert series "Video Games Live," highlighting iconic video game music around the world. More recently, Tallarico became the public face of the revived Intellivision brand, leading development of the Intellivision Amico home console.

Despite initial enthusiasm, the project faced significant delays, leading to heightened scrutiny and Tallarico’s eventual exit from the CEO role in 2022, succeeded by Phil Adam amidst ongoing launch issues.

The negative spotlight intensified following a widely viewed exposé by YouTuber Hbomberguy, which detailed and challenged several claims made by Tallarico over the years. The Hunt Club mansion, which Tallarico originally purchased in 1995 for $605,000, has been publicly admired in the past, including a feature on HGTV’s “Offbeat America.” The residence spans three stories and offers 5,884 square feet of living space situated on 0.7 private acres, surrounded by mature landscaping, blocked views for privacy, and 24-hour guard-gated security.

Outdoor amenities include a castle-themed saltwater pool with a moat, waterfalls, mature koi pond, fruit trees, and solar infrastructure.

Inside, the estate showcases luxury details like a library with a stone fireplace, gold-leaf dining room, custom Venetian stucco kitchen, and a soaring living room with artisanal woodwork. Entertainment amenities are equally elaborate, featuring a dedicated home theater equipped with premium audio-visual technology, including a Sony 4K 3D projector, Dolby Atmos sound system, and suede recliners.

A spacious game room, master suite with a private waterfall, opulent bathrooms, and multiple wet bars further highlight the property’s upscale character.

The third floor hosts a studio or potential bedroom, office spaces, and abundant storage.

Notably, it is unclear whether the much-discussed Spider-Man themed room will remain as part of the sale. Tallarico’s move to sell this distinguished property marks another chapter in his storied and sometimes turbulent legacy in the gaming world.

As the industry continues to evolve and new projects emerge, Tallarico’s past contributions, from memorable game soundtracks to efforts at Intellivision, remain a talking point among video game professionals and enthusiasts alike.
