Yet as of early 2025, Panzer Dragoon II Zwei Remake remains missing in action, with its fate uncertain and no official Nintendo Switch release date in sight. In early 2023, Forever Entertainment’s marketing manager confirmed via Discord that the status of the sequel was still “work in progress,” clarifying that earlier, more optimistic timelines were inaccurately communicated by former staff.

Throughout this period, MegaPixel Studio was also active on other high-profile titles, such as the ill-fated Fear Effect Reinvented.

The Fear Effect project was cancelled in 2023, following a mutual agreement with Square Enix, and accompanied by additional layoffs at MegaPixel Studio, further impacting morale and capacity. Recent Updates and the Current Status March 2024 saw a rare direct comment regarding Panzer Dragoon II Zwei Remake.

Forever Entertainment’s marketing and communications manager explained on Discord, “We’re unable to show much work-in-progress right now, but once all parties are happy, we’ll reveal more,” before emphasizing, “The game does exist—I've personally played it.” Hopes for a near-term announcement were rekindled, but news in January 2025 that MegaPixel Studio is now working on House of the Dead 2 Remake—targeting a Spring 2025 release—once again dashed expectations for immediate progress on Panzer Dragoon II Zwei. A company representative reiterated, “The project is still a work in progress.” When pressed for specifics on the causes behind the extensive delays, the publisher simply added, “We’ll share more information once we can.
