Switch release and demo

The Nintendo Switch edition of Volcano Princess is confirmed for release on the Nintendo eShop on July 30, 2026.

A prologue demo is already available on the eShop; however, the demo’s save data will not carry over into the full version.

The full Switch release includes new maps, items and storylines not present in earlier builds.

Publishing update

The Switch port has changed publishing partners since its announcement.

The project was previously listed with Gamera Games and will now be published on Switch by Colorful Palette.

Game overview and mechanics

Set in a fantasy medieval world of swords and magic, Volcano Princess tasks players with raising a daughter whose development and ultimate fate depend on player choices.

The title combines traditional RPG elements with simulation systems: players can pursue activities such as farming, cooking, fishing, gambling, dueling, drama, dancing, horse racing and street-level interactions to shape their daughter’s skills and personality.

The game features more than 50 possible endings, including more than 20 outcomes tied to emotional story paths.

The narrative also incorporates a looming demonic threat led by a figure known as the Owl Princess, providing a larger-world conflict that intersects with the personal growth arcs of the player’s daughter.

What this means for Switch players

For Nintendo Switch owners, the July 30 release offers a complete localized experience on a handheld-capable platform, accompanied by the new content announced for this edition.

Players interested in trying the game ahead of launch can sample the prologue demo on the eShop, keeping in mind demo progress will not transfer to the retail release.

Volcano Princess’s arrival on Nintendo Switch closes a multi-year wait since the port’s announcement and positions the title for discovery among Switch’s broad user base when it lands on the eShop on July 30, 2026.
