Nintendo eShop This Week: Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Nintendo Switch 2 Edition, Madden NFL 27 Pre-Orders, and New eShop Releases

Nintendo’s weekly Nintendo Download update highlights major new releases and eShop activity across the Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch platforms. This week’s bulletin centers on the release of Xenoblade Chronicles 2 – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition from Monolith Soft, pre-order details for EA SPORTS Madden NFL 27 on the Nintendo Switch 2, fresh Nintendo Music playlists, limited-time DLC events, and a slate of new eShop launches. Xenoblade Chronicles 2 – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition is available now on the Nintendo Switch 2 system. Developed by Monolith Soft and published by Nintendo, the Switch 2 edition delivers enhanced visuals — including 4K resolution in TV mode and full HD handheld at 60 frames per second — alongside smoother cutscenes. Nintendo also added new content for this release, such as a Rare Blade named Momo and a new action battle mode called Merc Assault. Players who already own the Nintendo Switch version can purchase an upgrade pack through the Nintendo eShop. EA has opened pre-orders for EA SPORTS Madden NFL 27 on Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch 2 ahead of the game’s Aug. 13 release on the platform. EA describes Madden NFL 27 as transforming Franchise into a reactive, always-evolving league with more nuanced player personalities, improved WR/DB battles, new short-yardage mechanics, and enhanced defensive coverage options. The Deluxe Edition pre-order grants up to three days of early access as well as additional in-game items and points. Nintendo Music has added themed playlists, including Free Roam tracks from Mario Kart World paired with soundtracks like Super Mario World 2: Yoshi’s Island and Donkey Kong Country. Nintendo of America also outlined a Donkey Kong Bananza DLC event (DK Island & Emerald Rush) running from Aug. 4 at 1 a.m. PT to Aug. 11 at 12:59 a.m. PT, and detailed My Nintendo reward redemptions: an exclusive Super Mario World desktop metal display for 1,000 My Nintendo Platinum Points, and a Splatoon Raiders memo pad redeemable for 550 Platinum Points.
