GfK's latest UK Top 40 chart, compiled and published this week, highlights a quieter release window that has allowed established franchises to retain strong positions.

The listing reflects sales and platform splits across PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch and the platform designated in the report as "Switch 2." Major franchise entries continue to dominate the top ranks.

At No.1, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 remains the best-selling game in the UK for the second consecutive chart, with the platform breakdown showing a dominant PlayStation 5 share (75%), followed by Xbox Series (20%) and Switch 2 (5%).

That stability at the summit underscores the franchise's continued commercial strength in the region.

EA Sports FC 27 occupies second place, driven primarily by PlayStation 5 sales (53%), with additional contributions from Nintendo Switch (17%), Xbox Series (14%) and Switch 2 (10%).

Minecraft returns to the upper reaches of the chart in third, where the title's sales are split between Switch 2 (71%) and the original Switch (29%).

Nintendo Switch Sports Resort slipped to fourth place this week, falling off the podium after a recent run of strong performance.

GfK's summary noted that with fewer major new releases last week, "the month's two big hitters continued to perform well," allowing long-running sellers to reclaim chart positions.

The analyst compilation also highlights a resurgence for several Capcom catalog titles: Resident Evil Requiem has climbed to fifth place (platform split: PS5 66%, Switch 2 28%, Xbox Series 5%), while Onimusha: Way of the Sword rebounded to sixth (PC 51%, PS5 27%, Switch 2 18%, Xbox Series 4%).

Separately, Evercade's Banjo-Kazooie Double Pack made its chart debut at No.14, marking a notable entry for the Evercade platform compilation releases.

Other consistent performers in the Top 40 include Mario Kart World, Final Fantasy Resonance and long-standing sellers such as Grand Theft Auto V and Super Mario titles.

The full Top 40, including platform breakdowns for Switch, Switch 2 and other consoles, was published by GfK and is regularly used by industry watchers to track weekly retail and platform performance in the UK market.

For developers and publishers, these weekly charts remain a key barometer of consumer trends across physical and digital storefronts, including the Nintendo eShop and platform-specific retail channels.
