Rayman, one of Ubisoft's most enduring mascots, is commemorating its 30th anniversary this year.
To honor this significant milestone, Ubisoft is rolling out a series of events and content meant to both celebrate Rayman's storied legacy and build anticipation among fans for the character’s future.
The month-long festivities include exclusive retrospectives, behind-the-scenes insights, developer interviews, rare concept artwork, and much more, allowing both newcomers and long-time fans to explore Rayman’s rich history.
This celebration comes at a time when the Rayman franchise is once again in the spotlight, thanks to momentum generated by Ubisoft’s recent announcements and ongoing development projects.
Notably, Ubisoft Montpellier and Ubisoft Milan—the key studios behind some of Rayman's most acclaimed adventures—are currently hard at work on a new Rayman project.
While this news has fueled considerable excitement within the gaming community, Ubisoft Brand Producer Loïc Gounon recently reassured fans that the character “is in good hands.” However, Gounon also made it clear that further details about the upcoming title are not likely to be revealed in the immediate future.
This update follows a significant development in May, when job postings strongly indicated Ubisoft’s renewed focus on reviving the Rayman brand.
The publisher had already teased Rayman’s return to the main stage back in October of last year, solidifying expectations that the franchise will continue to play a prominent role in Ubisoft’s lineup.
Adding to the nostalgia, the latest video update features Christophe Heral, veteran composer and music advisor for Rayman Origins and Rayman Legends, sharing insights into the creative direction behind the series’ beloved soundtracks.
Rayman first made its debut in 1995 as a 2D platformer, enchanting audiences on multiple systems including the Game Boy Color and Game Boy Advance.
The series quickly evolved, with a 3D sequel launching during the Nintendo 64 era, laying the foundation for a franchise that has remained influential across generations of gaming hardware, including the Nintendo Switch.
As Ubisoft celebrates Rayman’s lasting appeal, the publisher is inviting fans to reminisce about three decades of whimsical platforming while also promising more updates down the road.
For now, players can look forward to a month rich in Rayman-themed retrospectives as Ubisoft sets the stage for the beloved hero’s next big adventure.
