This announcement brings a colourful new adventure to Nintendo’s hybrid platform, expanding the Switch’s robust library of indie and roguelite titles. Set in the distant lands surrounding the peaceful Shinju village, the game’s narrative follows Priestess Towa and her eight loyal companions as they confront the malevolent Magatsu, whose ambitions threaten the harmony of their world.

Players will take on the role of Towa and select two Guardians for each quest: one wielding the mystical power of the Tsurugi sword, and the other armed with the magical Kagura staff.

Each Guardian features distinct abilities, which can be unlocked and upgraded through both dungeon exploration and progression within Shinju Village’s dynamic hub. Brownies, known for their expertise in crafting intricate 2D worlds, deliver a uniquely hand-drawn visual style described by Bandai Namco Entertainment as “stunning painterly scenery,” where the game’s peaceful exterior masks underlying danger.

The soundtrack is composed by renowned industry veteran Hitoshi Sakimoto, whose musical contributions promise to enhance the immersive experience.
