Mages, a prominent developer in the visual novel and adventure game sector, has officially announced its latest title, The Quintessential Princesses: Fantasy, the Abyss, and the Magic Academy, exclusively for Nintendo Switch.
The highly anticipated dungeon RPG is set to launch on September 18, 2025, in Japan, expanding the studio’s repertoire of games inspired by popular manga and anime franchises.
The Quintessential Princesses: Fantasy, the Abyss, and the Magic Academy introduces players to a magical world where science and sorcery coexist among rival kingdoms.
At the heart of the story is Futaro Uesugi, a destitute student attending a magic academy.
Uesugi accepts a part-time job as a tutor with unexpectedly beneficial terms, discovering that his new pupils are none other than the enigmatic quintuplets—his peers and daughters of highly influential aristocrats closely tied to the royal family.
Despite their striking beauty and status, the quintuplets struggle academically, barely managing to keep up with their studies, and Uesugi soon finds himself dealing with their idiosyncrasies as he attempts to help them succeed.
Throughout the journey, he uncovers a hidden “secret” about the sisters that adds depth to the unfolding narrative.
