Narrative and characters: The Legacy Edition expands on the original campaign by centering on the untold story of Agandaûr, a Black Númenórean aligned with Sauron who threatens the ruins of Fornost.
Familiar Tolkien figures such as Aragorn, Gandalf, and Elrond appear during the journey, and the game visits iconic locations including Rivendell, Lórien, The Lonely Mountain, and Mirkwood.
Playable heroes and progression: The remaster returns the three distinct playable characters from the 2011 release—Eradan (a Dúnedain ranger focused on stealth and ranged precision), Andriel (an elven loremaster who provides magical support and healing), and Farin (a dwarven champion built for durability and melee combat).
Players can switch between these characters and customize skills, abilities, weapons, and armor as part of the game’s RPG progression.
