Super Rare Games has confirmed a limited-run physical release of The Golden Idol Saga for Nintendo Switch, partnering with developer Color Gray Games and publisher Playstack.

The boxed edition compiles the complete Golden Idol narrative into a single cartridge and will be available for pre-order on August 27 at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET / 6 PM UK / 7 PM Europe.

The physical package is comprehensive: it contains The Case of the Golden Idol plus its two expansions, The Spider of Lanka and The Lemurian Vampire, as well as The Rise of the Golden Idol and all four DLC expansions.

Super Rare Games says every component of the series will be accessible from one Nintendo Switch cartridge, simplifying access for players who prefer physical media over digital downloads on the Nintendo eShop.

Two editions will be offered.

A run of 3,500 standard copies will be produced alongside 1,500 Deluxe Editions.

Both versions include a full-color manual, a complete trading card set (including the shiny card), and an SRG sticker.

The Deluxe Edition adds physical extras: a journal, a fridge magnet, two sticker sheets, and a fold-out poster that presents a timeline of events in the Golden Idol universe.

Paraphrasing the announcement, Super Rare Games described the boxed release as a way to present the entire Golden Idol story in one collectible package for Nintendo Switch owners.

Color Gray Games characterizes The Golden Idol series as an investigative detective experience that gives players freedom to discover clues, identify victims and suspects, and unravel the lore surrounding an ancient, powerful artifact known as the Golden Idol.

This release consolidates the franchise’s content for collectors and players who favor physical editions.

Pre-orders open on August 27 at the times listed above; interested buyers should prepare to secure one of the limited copies when sales go live.

For developers and retailers tracking limited physical releases, quantities and included extras are important: 3,500 standard and 1,500 Deluxe copies, both with printed manuals and card sets, and expanded physical memorabilia in the Deluxe package.

The Golden Idol Saga physical edition is a notable entry in Super Rare Games’ catalog of limited-quantity Nintendo Switch releases and will be a key offering for fans of indie detective titles and physical game collecting.
