Nintendo is marking the release of Star Fox on Switch 2 with a cross-promotion in Tetris 99 and a set of themed Switch icons for players to purchase through the My Nintendo loyalty program.

Nintendo announced that the Star Fox Edition of the Tetris 99 Maximus Cup will run from July 10, 2026 at 12:00 a.m.
PT through July 13, 2026.
Players who compete during the event and earn at least 100 points will unlock a special in-game theme.
Nintendo described the 55th Maximus Cup as a timed event featuring Tetriminos, music, art, and a new Star Fox theme designed for Tetris 99.
