Terminator 2D: NO FATE returned to Nintendo Switch players in December 2025, and developer Bitmap Bureau has issued the game's first major update.

Patch 1, dated June 2026, is now live across Steam, Epic Games Store, PlayStation, Xbox and the Nintendo Switch eShop — bringing new features, achievement fixes, visual adjustments and audio improvements.

Bitmap Bureau acknowledged the patch rollout and thanked the game's community, saying the update is available across all platforms and that fan support has been central to the project's ongoing improvements.

The developer also confirmed Steam Trading Card support, which includes six trading cards, badges, backgrounds and emoticons available via the game's Steam page.

Key additions and improvements

- Completion percentage: The title screen now displays a completion percentage based on unlocked paths, difficulties, achievements, secrets and ranks, helping players track progress toward 100% completion.

- Improved save behavior: Using Save Progress in Story Mode will now restart players at the last checkpoint reached for most levels, instead of restarting the entire level.

There are exceptions for a handful of stages where medkit logic differs.

- Streamer music mode: A toggle in Audio disables licensed tracks to avoid issues for streamers.

- T-800 bonus and level training: A new T-800 bonus section was added to the Cyberdyne HQ: Infiltration stage on Story and Arcade modes, and levels reached during play will now unlock for Level Training without requiring full completion.

- Accessibility and UI: A Show Tutorials toggle lets repeat players skip control tutorials.

View Credits has been added to the Options screen with music playback for Featurecast tracks.

Achievements and balance

Patch 1 targets a number of achievement triggers that previously did not register reliably, including S Rank tracking across 19 levels and a range of specific achievements such as PARKOUR, MAN’S BEST FRIEND and HUNTER KILLER.

Several boss encounters and level scripts have been rebalanced — for example, added plasma turrets to the HK-BOMBER and sound and hitbox tweaks across multiple stages to reduce unfair damage and corner exploits.

Art, audio and level fixes

Visual and animation updates include adjusted frames for Sarah and John Connor, end-of-level shadow fixes, and corrected layering for aerial explosions.

Audio changes range from new sound effects for T-800 attacks to fixes for music cues that previously played incorrectly on continues during boss fights.

Availability and context

Patch 1 is available now on Steam, Epic Games Store, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch.

For players on Switch, the update is distributed through the Nintendo eShop.

Bitmap Bureau continues to refine Terminator 2D: NO FATE following its December launch, responding to community feedback and platform-specific issues documented in the official June 2026 patch notes.
