Tales of Eternia Remastered Nintendo Switch: Reid Character Trailer and October 15, 2026 Launch

Bandai Namco on Thursday released a new Reid-focused trailer for Tales of Eternia Remastered, the studio-confirmed remaster of the classic entry in the Tales series.

Announced during the latest Nintendo Direct, the publisher says the title will arrive on October 15, 2026 for both Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2.

The trailer centers on protagonist Reid Hershel and re-establishes the dual-world stakes that drive the game's narrative.

A world divided: story primer

The remaster returns players to Eternia, a setting split into two isolated realms: Inferia and Celestia.

In the trailer, Reid is introduced as a young hunter from the Rasheans village in Inferia.

He and his childhood friend Farah Oersted encounter a mysterious girl named Meredy, and their investigation into her origins reveals a looming catastrophe known in the game as the "Great Fall," a collision that threatens both worlds.

The story repeatedly references Greater Craymels—elemental spirits that underpin key plot and gameplay systems—as Reid and his companions attempt to prevent the disaster.

Bandai Namco frames the new footage around Reid's beginning as a hunter in Rasheans before escalating into a cross-world conflict, emphasizing the personal and global stakes that propel the narrative.

The publisher also highlighted how elemental spirits factor into both plot and combat, positioning them as central to the group's mission to save Inferia and Celestia.

Combat and quality-of-life updates

Tales of Eternia Remastered retains the series' Aggressive Linear Motion Battle System (A-LMBS), which Bandai Namco says supports varied Artes, continuous combos, and tactical coordination among party members.

The remaster presents action-oriented 2D combat that allows players to chain enemies together in dynamic encounters.

Bandai Namco detailed several quality-of-life improvements: destination markers to streamline navigation, an option to disable random enemy encounters, and a high-speed mode for auto battles.

The remaster also offers audiovisual toggles so players can switch between the updated presentation and a more nostalgic mode that reflects the original release.

For fans who missed the Nintendo Direct segment, Bandai Namco has additionally released the game's opening movie and the new character trailer for Reid.

Tales of Eternia Remastered is confirmed to launch on October 15, 2026 on Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2, and will be available on the appropriate digital storefronts at release.
