Starship Troopers: Ultimate Bug War Brings Classic FPS Action to Nintendo Switch 2 Fans of classic first-person shooters have a new reason to celebrate as Starship Troopers: Ultimate Bug War has officially landed on the Nintendo Switch 2.

Developed by Auroch Digital and published by Dotemu, this latest adaptation of the iconic sci-fi franchise resurrects the retro FPS spirit, offering an action-packed battle against the relentless Arachnid threat.

The launch was marked by a compelling trailer, providing players with a glimpse of explosive gameplay and familiar Starship Troopers lore. True to its roots, Starship Troopers: Ultimate Bug War thrusts players into a high-stakes conflict as the savage Arachnids launch an unprovoked invasion across multiple human worlds.

As Federation forces rally to repel this existential menace, players assume the role of Major Samantha Dietz, embarking on a heroic campaign that will lead them from the ravaged cities of Klendathu to the infamous battlefields of Planet P and beyond. The heart of this experience is an all-new single-player campaign filled with original scenarios.

As players charge into battle, they are tasked with liberating occupied territories, mounting daring rescues, and combating towering Bug adversaries.

Open-ended battlezones let players carve their own strategic paths—whether defending critical zones from relentless swarms, hunting down nightmarish Arachnid species, or scouring environments for classified Federation secrets. Starship Troopers: Ultimate Bug War delivers on firepower, presenting an extensive arsenal that includes unlockable weapons and powerful combat exosuits, all designed to give humanity an edge against the bug menace.

The title also features never-before-seen Arachnid enemies, ranging from tank-like brutes to agile flying pests, challenging veterans and newcomers alike to stay vigilant in every firefight. Bringing added authenticity to the Starship Troopers universe, the game incorporates full-motion video (FMV) broadcasts featuring General Johnny Rico, who provides motivational briefings and battlefield encouragement.

Aesthetically, the game celebrates its genre roots with a high-quality, 3D pixelated visual style evocative of legendary shooters from the 1990s. Speaking about the launch, Dotemu and Auroch Digital reiterated their commitment to crafting a fun and faithful Starship Troopers experience.

In a statement, the developers described the title as an opportunity for players to "hone their combat skills, discover secret content, and immerse themselves in the Federation’s most harrowing campaign yet."
