Seafrog Set for Worldwide Nintendo Switch Release on February 19, 2026
Seafrog, the highly anticipated 2.5D action-puzzle-platformer from Grumpyface Studios and OhMyMe Games, is officially launching on the Nintendo Switch eShop worldwide on February 19, 2026.
With its distinct blend of fast-paced trick mechanics and nonlinear Metroidvania-style exploration, Seafrog aims to carve out a unique space on Nintendo’s hybrid console. A Unique Take on Action Puzzle Platformers Seafrog welcomes players to a whimsical, oceanic world, where you guide Seafrog, a character equipped with a rocket-powered wrench, through derelict ships and mysterious floating wrecks.
Described by its developers as a 'skate-troidvania,' the game challenges players to grind rails, chain together tricks, and boost through enemies.
These traversal skills are key as you explore interconnected levels, reminiscent of classic Metroidvania design, with over 120 handcrafted challenges set across multiple themed chapters. Game director and Grumpyface Studios founder Chris Graham stated that the development teams at both Grumpyface and OhMyMe Games have been lifelong Nintendo fans.
He expressed excitement about bringing Seafrog to Nintendo Switch, noting, “The art, gameplay, and atmosphere of Seafrog feel perfectly at home on the Switch, and we’re eager for the community to experience what we’ve created.” A Vibrant, Player-Focused Adventure With a visual style inspired by '90s classics, Seafrog offers a system where players can fuel up their rocket-wrench by stringing together combos using a straightforward auto-trick mechanic.
Grinds can be performed on enemies and obstacles, powering up for acrobatic moves such as wall runs, ceiling climbs, and mid-air boosts—essential for overcoming the game’s modular upgrade system and increasingly complex puzzles. Each chapter of Seafrog introduces new challenges and environments.
Players will face off against aggressive Viking ghosts aboard the Sea Dragon, battle a chicken plague on the Chunky Chacken, and encounter a mischievous crew of apes at The Sweater Factory.
Each area concludes with masterful boss fights—ranging from the legendary Skraken to the formidable Metal Beak and even a mysterious adversary named Gerald.
Successful players will collect "Master Gears" to repair their ship’s cannon and escape the perilous Seahole, all while enjoying a rich array of platforming set-pieces. Digital Worldwide Launch on Nintendo eShop Seafrog will be available exclusively as a digital download on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch, starting February 19, 2026.
This release continues Grumpyface Studios’ and OhMyMe Games’ tradition of supporting Nintendo’s platform with innovative indie experiences.
Nintendo Switch users can look forward to exploring Seafrog’s vibrant world, with the promise of creative level design, varied challenges, and a nostalgic presentation that reflects the developers’ love for the platform.
As anticipation builds, a gameplay trailer is available to showcase the game’s mechanics and quirky charm ahead of launch. For fans of action puzzle platformers and indie games, Seafrog represents one of the standout upcoming Nintendo Switch releases, poised to make a splash on its February 2026 debut.
