Debuting digitally worldwide on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch in early 2026, this title marks a significant evolution for the fan-favorite series, blending retro-inspired pixel art with modern brawler mechanics. Building upon the legacy of 'Scott Pilgrim vs.

The World: Complete Edition', Scott Pilgrim EX reimagines the universe with a contemporary approach while remaining deeply rooted in the original’s unique aesthetic and humor.

Players will be able to embark on a time-bending adventure through a revitalized Toronto, featuring up to four-player cooperative combat and dynamic, side-scrolling action reminiscent of classic arcade brawlers. Fans will have the opportunity to play as beloved characters including Scott Pilgrim, Ramona Flowers, and other well-known members of the series’ cast.

Each of the seven playable characters arrives with a complete move set from the outset, while character progression is further enhanced through customizable stats and special equipable items.

This personalizing approach makes each fighter distinct, inviting long-time fans and newcomers alike. The game will feature a brand-new storyline co-written by Scott Pilgrim creator Bryan Lee O’Malley alongside the Tribute Games narrative team.

Having previously scored the 2010 game adaptation, the band’s electrifying blend of 8-bit and melodic rock will frame the game’s energetic battles and story moments, introducing a suite of newly crafted tracks. Pixel art maestro Paul Robertson teams up with the Tribute Games animation team to design vibrant character animations, further cementing Scott Pilgrim EX’s visual distinctiveness.

In addition, BenDavid Grabinski, director and showrunner of the animated series 'Scott Pilgrim Takes Off,' joins the project as a creative consultant, rounding out a development team rich in franchise legacy. Jonathan Lavigne, game director at Tribute Games, emphasized that Scott Pilgrim EX represents a culmination of years of experience developing brawlers and a deep appreciation for the source material.
