Ubisoft has confirmed that Rayman Legends Retold will launch worldwide on December 3, 2026, for retail and digital release on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch 2.
The remake is led by Ubisoft Montpellier and Ubisoft Milan and reimagines the 2013 classic with fully voiced cinematics, new 3D visuals, and a brand-new story set in the Glade of Dreams.
Announcement and revised schedule
Ubisoft said the project has reached gold status but the teams opted to shift the release schedule to ensure polish.
The publisher explained that, although the game has gone gold, the developers are taking extra time to ensure every detail receives appropriate care.
Ubisoft also announced a Game Overview trailer due on September 22, with selected creators and press sharing hands-on impressions that same day.
What Rayman Legends Retold includes
- New and returning content: The remake adds a previously unseen sixth realm, epic boss battles, and worlds populated with hidden Teensies to rescue.
Players will also encounter four new musical stages, redesigned character encounters, and freshly imagined elements across the Glade of Dreams.
- Play options: Rayman Legends Retold supports single-player and up to four-player local co-op, retaining the series’ cooperative platforming focus.
- Activities and modes: New features include dragon rides, the Cave of Trials challenge zone, and a broad selection of remastered levels from the original title.
- Soundtrack: The expanded soundtrack keeps fan-favourite themes and adds new compositions from Christophe Héral and Grant Kirkhope.
Editions, technical upgrades and pre-order incentives
Digital Standard and Deluxe Editions will include Rayman Origins: Enhanced Edition, upgraded for modern hardware with 4K resolution, 60 frames per second performance, new collectibles and rewards, haptic feedback support on compatible controllers, and other quality-of-life improvements.
A physical Launch Edition will also be available, bundled with a printed Glade of Dreams map, three lithographs, and a slipcase.
Players who pre-order any edition will receive the Hoodlum Havoc Pack, which includes two costumes inspired by Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc for Rayman and Globox.
