Princess Peach Crown Valuation Surpasses Zelda’s in Unique Taylor & Hart Study
For decades, Nintendo’s iconic princesses have captured the imagination of gamers worldwide, starring in blockbuster franchises on platforms like the Nintendo Switch.
While Princess Peach and Princess Zelda both enjoy royal status in the minds of fans, a recent valuation by UK-based jewellers Taylor & Hart has put Peach’s famous crown at the forefront of video game-inspired luxury.
Taylor & Hart, renowned for their bespoke jewellery designs, undertook an extensive study to estimate the real-world value of iconic pieces of jewellery showcased across video games, television, and film.
Their methodology factored in precious metals, unique gemstones, special attributes, and the rarity of each item.
The highlight of their ranking was Princess Peach’s crown from the beloved Super Mario series, which clinched second place overall among all fictional jewellery items considered.
According to Taylor & Hart’s findings, Princess Peach’s ornate crown is estimated to be worth an astonishing £240 million (approximately $333 million).
The centrepiece of this valuation is a rare 175-carat peach sapphire, flanked by Paraiba tourmalines of a comparable carat weight.
The jewellers further detailed that even the metal used to craft Peach’s crown would contribute an estimated £37,800 to the total value.
Summing these elements, Taylor & Hart affirmed: “It’s rare to see the Princess of the Mushroom Kingdom without her crown—whether she’s racing on Rainbow Road, confronting Bowser, or relaxing in her castle.
The unique combination of luxury gemstones and precious metals truly makes Peach’s crown fit for royalty.”
In a direct comparison, Princess Zelda’s crown from The Legend of Zelda franchise—another staple of Nintendo’s intellectual property—was also assessed.
Despite her key role across multiple generations of Nintendo hardware, including the Nintendo Switch and eShop, Zelda’s headpiece was given a significantly lower valuation of £18,000.
The report notes this as the only other Nintendo-related item in their top ranking, demonstrating the enduring legacy and distinctive design appeal of these video game relics.
While the study is a fun intersection of pop culture and jewellery expertise, Taylor & Hart’s endeavour has shed light on the imaginative and often extravagant world-building that defines Nintendo’s acclaimed franchises.
Their attention to detail in valuing such fictional items underscores the craftsmanship—both digital and theoretical—that continues to inspire fans on platforms like the Nintendo Switch and beyond.
