Bull-Airs Launches Retro Nintendo Console-Inspired Sneakers: Pre-Orders Go Live August 16

Bull-Airs, the innovative New York City-based clothing and sneaker company renowned for its custom, nostalgia-driven designs, has officially launched a new sneaker collection inspired by classic Nintendo consoles.

This retro-themed series, aptly named the Classic Gaming collection, channels the iconic look and feel of vintage Nintendo hardware, with pre-orders set to go live on Friday, August 16, 2024. The freshly released lineup features four distinct sneaker styles, each paying tribute to a beloved Nintendo system.

Among the designs is the Shoe Boy Color, which vividly mirrors the purple casing of the Game Boy Color handheld—one of Nintendo’s most enduring and fondly remembered portable devices.

The Family Computer model, meanwhile, adopts the cream and red palette of the original Famicom, complete with a stylistically accurate logo on the shoe’s signature tick.

The Classic Console variety draws clear inspiration from the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES), swapping out Nintendo’s logo for Bull-Airs branding front and center, while the Shoe Boy sneaker leans into the classic grayscale aesthetic of the original Game Boy. Attention to detail is a hallmark of the collection, with elements like a green-tinted "screen" and pixel-inspired accents on the Game Boy-inspired pair, as well as NES-themed artwork on the tongue of the Classic Console shoe.

Bull-Airs showcases its creativity by repurposing vintage Nike kicks to produce these custom creations, lending each pair a unique blend of retro gaming culture and modern sneaker craftsmanship. Alongside the footwear, Bull-Airs previously introduced a crew neck shirt with NES motifs and a Captain N Varsity Jacket.

While the NES-inspired crew neck isn’t included in the latest release, the Varsity Jacket remains available for purchase. Pre-orders for the Classic Gaming sneaker collection will open globally on August 16, 2024, exclusively via Bull-Airs’ official website.

Pricing reflects the craftsmanship and exclusivity, with each sneaker retailing for $350 USD.

The Captain N Varsity Jacket and the crew neck shirt are each priced at $99 USD.
