Pokémon Pokopia sales on Nintendo Switch 2: 4 Million Copies in Five Weeks

Nintendo’s latest financial report has confirmed that Pokémon Pokopia shifted more than 4 million units in its first five weeks on sale, making the title one of the fastest-selling releases on Nintendo Switch 2.

The company also reported cumulative Switch 2 hardware sales of 20 million units; at those numbers, roughly one in five Switch 2 owners purchased Pokopia within its opening five-week window.

These figures place Pokémon Pokopia as the third bestselling game on Switch 2 to date.

According to Nintendo’s published numbers, Donkey Kong Bananza sits just ahead with 4.5 million copies sold, while Mario Kart World remains the platform’s best-selling title with 14.7 million units.

In commentary included in the financial report, Nintendo said the game is drawing a wide audience and that many players are taking advantage of Switch 2–exclusive features such as GameShare.

The company added that releasing compelling, platform-exclusive titles is central to demonstrating the appeal of Switch 2 to existing Nintendo Switch users.

Industry tracker Joe Merrick, owner of long-running Pokémon fansite Serebii, compiled a list of Pokémon spin-off sales that puts Pokopia among the top sellers for dedicated gaming-device-exclusive spin-offs.

Merrick noted on May 8, 2026, that Pokopia ranks as the fifth bestselling Pokémon spin-off based on available sales figures, and he cautioned that full, comparable totals may be incomplete because Nintendo has in some cases excluded Japan from public sales breakdowns — an approach Merrick flagged in relation to previous releases.

Pokémon Pokopia is currently a Switch 2 exclusive and is available now on the platform.

Critical reception has been positive: our review described the game as an accessible, cozy crafting experience that will appeal to both franchise fans and players new to the genre.

With verified sales milestones and a clear showing in Nintendo’s financials, Pokémon Pokopia has established itself as a major early success for Switch 2.

Publishers and platform holders will continue to watch how sustained sales and future releases shape the Switch 2 software lineup.
