Pokémon TCG: 30th Celebration — Release Date, Booster Contents, and Futuristic Rare Details

The Pokémon Company International has announced Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG): 30th Celebration, a commemorative expansion marking the franchise’s 30th anniversary.

The expansion is a global celebration of the Pokémon brand and will be sold through participating retailers worldwide.

While the product itself is a physical trading-card expansion, code cards that unlock in the Pokémon TCG Live digital platform are included in each pack.

Release date and launch

Pokémon TCG: 30th Celebration is scheduled to launch at participating retailers on 16 September 2026.

The Pokémon Company International confirmed the expansion will receive a simultaneously coordinated global launch across participating markets, with additional product releases planned throughout the anniversary year.

Booster pack contents and digital integration

Each 30th Celebration booster pack will contain five foil cards, one foil Basic Energy, and one Pokémon TCG Live code card.

The inclusion of a code card means collectors and players can redeem a digital equivalent of select cards in the Pokémon TCG Live app, which supports cross-platform play on PC and mobile.

Futuristic Rare and featured artists

The expansion introduces a new rarity called Futuristic Rare, featuring vibrant, forward-looking visuals created by Japanese artist YOSHIROTTEN.

The Pokémon Company International described these cards as showcasing striking artwork that evokes hope toward an unknown future.

Every booster pack will also include one of 30 unique foil Pikachu cards, each illustrated by a different artist, giving collectors a diverse set of chase artwork across the product line.

Additional card themes and presentation

In addition to Futuristic Rares and the artist-Pikachu cards, the 30th Celebration lineup will include a mix of foil classics and newly illustrated cards depicting Pokémon across daytime and nighttime scenes.

The product is positioned to appeal to both long-term collectors and newer players who engage with Pokémon on physical and digital fronts.

Context for Nintendo platform observers

Although this expansion is a physical TCG release, collectors who follow Nintendo platforms often monitor Nintendo Direct and the Nintendo eShop for related digital promotions and announcements.

Historically, Pokémon TCG content has intersected with Nintendo platforms in various forms, and the inclusion of Pokémon TCG Live code cards maintains a bridge between physical packs and the digital experience.

The Pokémon Company International’s 30th Celebration expansion is a major anniversary release for the brand, combining collectible foil content, a new card rarity by a noted artist, and coordinated global availability starting 16 September 2026.
