Description

Pokemon Legends: Z-A from Game Freak and Nintendo made its debut on the Spanish market with notable sales figures, yet its first-week performance places it below other mainline entries in the long-running Pokemon franchise.

The highly anticipated title, available on both the Nintendo Switch and the new Switch 2 consoles, launched to considerable anticipation, reflecting the enduring popularity of the Pokemon series across global markets. According to verified retail data, Pokemon Legends: Z-A sold 89,000 physical copies in Spain during its first week on sale, spanning from October 13 to October 19.

Sales were split between platforms, with 53,000 units sold for Nintendo Switch and an additional 36,000 units for Switch 2.

These numbers are exclusive to retail sales and do not account for digital downloads from the eShop. Despite a strong presence, the latest Pokemon installment debuted with figures lower than previous blockbuster releases in the region.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, released prior, achieved a record-breaking 198,000 retail sales during their launch week, more than doubling the performance of Pokemon Legends: Z-A.
