Pokemon Legends Z-A Ranked Battle Season 2 Launches With New Mega Stone Rewards

The Pokemon Company has officially launched Season 2 of Ranked Battles for Pokemon Legends Z-A, bringing fresh competition, strategic updates, and enticing rewards for players on the Nintendo Switch.

Available exclusively via the eShop, this new season continues the brand’s long-standing tradition of online competitive play, challenging trainers to climb the ranks and showcase their battling prowess within the Pokemon Legends Z-A universe.

Ranked Battle Season 2 commenced on June 1, 2025, and is set to run through November 26, 2025, offering an extended window for trainers to compete and secure valuable prizes.

As with previous seasons, participants work their way through a structured rank system by challenging opponents worldwide.

Climbing the ladder not only brings prestige, but this season also delivers exclusive Mega Stone rewards at specific achievement tiers.

According to an official statement from The Pokemon Company, "Trainers who reach Rank Y will receive the Greninjite, while those attaining Rank S are awarded the Delphoxite.

These Mega Stones can be redeemed instantly upon reaching the designated ranks, allowing Pokemon such as Greninja and Delphox to Mega Evolve in battles, further enhancing your team’s competitive edge." In addition, all players who achieve a minimum of Rank E during Season 2 will be eligible to receive Dream Balls at the season’s conclusion.

Dream Balls are highly sought-after for their unique effects in capturing Pokemon, making them a valuable asset for both collectors and competitive battlers alike. One of the most notable updates for this season is the expanded eligibility of legendary Pokemon in ranked matches.

For the first time, both Xerneas and Yveltal are permitted for use in battle, introducing new strategies and team compositions to the competitive scene.

However, the legendary Pokemon Zygarde remains restricted and is not permitted in Ranked Battle Season 2, in accordance with the official tournament rules outlined by The Pokemon Company. Pokemon Legends Z-A has continued to capture the interest of the community since its release on Nintendo Switch, with the ranked battle scene driving player engagement.

Competitive seasons like these are central to the franchise’s enduring popularity, offering a mix of challenge, reward, and fresh gameplay experiences.

As trainers around the globe gear up for the new season, the inclusion of new Mega Stones and expanded legendary participation promises to diversify strategies and elevate the stakes in every match. Trainers can participate in Pokemon Legends Z-A Ranked Battle Season 2 now through the Nintendo Switch online platform, and are encouraged to check regularly for ranking updates and official news via Nintendo Direct and the eShop.
