Pokemon Home Connectivity Goes Live for Pokemon Legends: Z-A on Nintendo Switch

Nintendo has officially announced that Pokemon Home connectivity for "Pokemon Legends: Z-A" will roll out imminently, bringing anticipated integration to players across the globe.

Scheduled to launch on April 2 in Japan, this major update means that North American players can expect access to these new features beginning the next evening.

To facilitate the new connectivity, Pokemon Home will temporarily go offline for maintenance on April 2.

The downtime begins at 5 PM PT / 8 PM ET in North America, and at 1 AM in the UK / 2 AM in Europe.

Both the Nintendo Switch and mobile versions of Pokemon Home will be inaccessible during maintenance, ensuring a smooth transition for the upcoming update.

Once maintenance concludes, users will be required to update their Pokemon Home app to version 4.0.0.

The update will be available through the Nintendo eShop on Switch and via standard app stores for iOS and Android.

This upgrade prepares Pokemon Home for its enhanced compatibility with "Pokemon Legends: Z-A," allowing storage and transfer functionalities between the game and the broader Pokemon ecosystem.

Notably, this update is significant as "Pokemon Legends: Z-A" is available on both the current Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 platforms.

For players invested in cross-platform play and persistent storage, the ability to transfer Pokemon between mainline entries and this latest adventure further cements Pokemon Home as an essential tool for the franchise’s dedicated community.

Nintendo and The Pokemon Company have also clarified that the integration with "Pokemon Legends: Z-A" will come with limitations.

Certain features or transfer capabilities may be restricted to ensure game balance and compatibility.

Players are advised to review the official patch notes and online documentation for detailed information about supported species and transfer rules.

"Pokemon Legends: Z-A" continues the celebrated tradition of the franchise, developed by Game Freak and published by Nintendo.

The title has been praised for its innovative gameplay and is available now via the Nintendo eShop for both Switch platforms.

Pokemon Home, available on Nintendo Switch, iOS, and Android, remains free to download, with premium features offered through a subscription model.
