The Pokémon Company has confirmed that Pokémon HOME will add support for Pokémon FireRed Version and Pokémon LeafGreen Version on Nintendo Switch beginning October 2026.
The update allows trainers to transfer Pokémon caught in the Switch versions of FireRed and LeafGreen into Pokémon HOME and then move them to other compatible titles in the series.
In a statement aimed at players revisiting the Kanto region, the company asked if trainers were ready to extend their journeys and confirmed that FireRed and LeafGreen will link with Pokémon HOME starting in October 2026.
The announcement makes clear that transfers from these Switch titles to other games are one-way: once a Pokémon from FireRed or LeafGreen is moved into another game via Pokémon HOME, it cannot be returned to FireRed or LeafGreen.
Likewise, Pokémon originating in other games will not be transferable into FireRed or LeafGreen.

- Premium Plan capacity: With the version 4.1.0 update arriving in October, Pokémon HOME Premium Plan subscribers will see their deposit limit increase from 6,000 Pokémon to 9,000 Pokémon.
The company noted there are no changes to pricing for the Premium Plan.
