Pokémon Pokopia Expansion Pass Part 1: Bubbly Basin is now available for players who own Pokémon Pokopia and the Expansion Pass DLC on Nintendo Switch.
The new content drop introduces an underwater town, new furniture and outfit items, additional Pokémon to encounter, and gameplay features designed for players continuing their island adventures.
According to the official announcement, purchasing the Pokémon Pokopia Expansion Pass grants access to three content drops as they release, with the first—Bubbly Basin—now active.
The publisher explains that Bubbly Basin adds a seaside-turned-underwater locale where players can explore new points of interest, sample local produce, visit a Dream Island featuring a Starmie doll, craft smoothies, and use newly added buoyant blocks to construct floating buildings at varied depths.
The update also teases exploration of a mysterious hole on the sea floor.
How to access Bubbly Basin
The developer notes that access requires the full base game plus the Expansion Pass DLC.
In addition, players must meet a few in-game conditions: learn the Dive move, which is included in the free 2.0.0 update; complete the key request "Raise the environment level!" in Bleak Beach; and then locate Popplio in Bleak Beach to reach Bubbly Basin's underwater gate.
If players need guidance on raising environment levels, the publisher refers them to a preparatory news article published ahead of the update.
Purchase bonuses and redemption details
Buyers of the Pokémon Pokopia Expansion Pass receive two immediate bonuses.
First, a Ditto print blocks and wallpaper recipe becomes available via the game's Downloadable Content menu.
Second, purchasers are sent an email with a code redeemable for 30 rare Pokémetal ingots through the game's Mystery Gifts feature (found under Get Items at the Pokémon Center).
The email code must be redeemed by Aug. 31, 2027, and the in-game reward claimed on or before Sept. 30, 2027.
The publisher clarifies that Mystery Gifts requires connecting the Nintendo Switch system to the internet and linking a Nintendo Account; a Nintendo Switch Online membership is not required.
Players should note it takes roughly 30 minutes of play before Mystery Gifts is accessible and that the item can be redeemed only once.
