Jupiter has confirmed that Picross S Climax will launch for both Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 on December 10, 2026.
The announcement positions Picross S Climax as a major compilation entry in Jupiter’s long-running Picross S puzzle series, consolidating content from previous releases and adding newly created high-difficulty challenges.
According to Jupiter, Picross S Climax collects 1,020 puzzles selected from Picross S through Picross S9 and supplements them with 40 newly drawn bonus puzzles aimed at veteran players.
The publisher described the package as a comprehensive release intended to appeal to both newcomers and established fans, noting that the compilation “represents a definitive Picross S experience that can be recommended to players encountering the series for the first time as well as long-time fans.”
The game reorganizes puzzles by three difficulty tiers — easy, normal and hard — to make progression clear for new players while preserving challenge for experienced solvers.
Mode-wise, Picross S Climax includes staples from the series: Picross (classic), Mega Picross, Color Picross and Clip Picross, and adds an Extra mode that uses a large board surface.
Puzzle counts by mode are listed by Jupiter as: Picross 450, Mega Picross 450, Color Picross 90, Clip Picross 15 and Extra 15.
Jupiter also confirmed that the 40 high-difficulty bonus puzzles require linked play data from Picross S through Picross S9 on the console to unlock; if no prior play data exists on the Switch system, the bonus content will remain locked.
The release supports multiple control styles, including touchscreen input and Joy-Con controls, and allows up to four players to play simultaneously with button-based input.
Audio features include selectable background music drawn from the series’ previous entries and a dedicated sound player for listening to tracks outside of puzzle play.
