N Plus Infinity Times Two Coming to Nintendo Switch 2 and PC in 2027 — Metanet Details Multiplayer Modes

Metanet has confirmed that N Plus Infinity Times Two, the next entry in the long-running N platforming series, will launch on PC and consoles including Nintendo Switch 2 in 2027.

Announced during Day of the Devs as part of Summer Game Fest, the title shifts the franchise’s focus toward party-style multiplayer while retaining the precision platforming the series is known for.

According to Metanet’s announcement, N Plus Infinity Times Two will offer five multiplayer modes alongside traditional solo content.

The developer said the game brings back classic franchise staples such as Trials — a reimagining of the single-player and hardcore modes from earlier N games — and Co-op.

Racing is returning in a remixed form dubbed “Rocket Murder Time,” and the release introduces two new competitive modes: One-Up and Team Tag.

Metanet described Races as a rapid, four-player sprint to the level exit that emphasizes both speed and score by collecting gold; the developer compared the mode to a two-dimensional interpretation of party-competition games.

One-Up is an elimination-style mode in which players must outpace rivals and collect the most gold to avoid being knocked out, while Team Tag pairs players into two-person teams that alternate roles as Hunters and Ninjas to outscore and outlast opponents.

All modes support local play and online multiplayer, with cross-platform play available between platforms.

The game will also include single-player challenges, a built-in level editor with online sharing for community content, and a curated soundtrack featuring 50 artists centered on UK garage and its subgenres.

N’s origins date to a 2004 Flash release; the series moved to consoles with N+ on Xbox Live Arcade in 2008.

The most recent mainline entry, N++, released in 2015 and later came to Nintendo Switch.

Nintendo Life awarded N++ an 8/10 score, highlighting the game’s vast number of levels and escalating difficulty as elements that kept play engaging over long periods.

Metanet’s announcement establishes N Plus Infinity Times Two as both a return to form and a multiplayer-forward expansion of the franchise.

The 2027 release window will place the title on next-generation Nintendo hardware and contemporary PC and console platforms.
