Activision has confirmed an open beta for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 on Nintendo's Switch 2, running August 28 through September 1, 2026.
The company first signaled Call of Duty's return to a Nintendo console at the end of May, and this beta window gives Switch 2 users the opportunity to test Multiplayer features ahead of the game's full launch on October 23, 2026.
Beta structure and access
Activision says the beta will begin with a period limited to select participants before opening up to all eligible Switch 2 users.
The public phase will allow broader access for players who want to test Multiplayer ahead of launch.
The publisher confirmed the beta start date as August 28, 2026, and its conclusion as September 1, 2026.
Vault Edition pre-order incentives
Players who pre-order the Modern Warfare 4 Vault Edition will receive a suite of immediate beta benefits.
Activision outlined that Vault Edition purchasers can play as the four Operators included in the Hostile Alliance Operator Pack during the Multiplayer beta: Price, Valeria, Ghost, and Blix.
The company also noted that Price and Valeria have masked and unmasked variants accessible via the emote system.
In addition, Vault Edition pre-orders receive the Special Forces Operator Pack for beta access.
Those Operators are COM SFT (France), KSK Amphibious (Germany), SK Special Forces (South Korea), and SAS (United Kingdom).
Each of these Operators includes a localized voice pack in the Operator's native language.
Signature Weapons Collection access
Vault Edition players can also immediately test one base weapon and its Blueprint from each of the five armaments in the Signature Weapons Collection, including their Apex Attachments.
The list provided by Activision includes:
- Kastov 762 assault rifle with the "Voltspine" Blueprint
- ISO Nightshade submachine gun with the "La Sombra Venenosa" ("The Poisonous Shadow") Blueprint
- Rezi 12 shotgun with the "Shattered Code" Blueprint
- Oris 8.6 marksman rifle with the "Volt-Edge" Blueprint
- Combat Knife melee weapon with the "Sombra Besada" ("Shadow's Kiss") Blueprint
